For [info]hyperion1, pics of my mask(s) & more


Sorry for the late entry.

Here are pictures of my masks, and some other purchases from Venice.



This is our 'main' mask. Took a long time to decide the colour though. Ended up with green as it's more asexual. There were bells attached to each swirl but they got rusty and we have yet to replace them. You could imagine us walking around the cities with the bells tinkling away.

These two are smaller masks. Couldn't resist them because I like the feathery one. All our masks are made of paper mache. Didn't want to get those clay ones.

My favourite pair of earrings :) Made of plastic as clay will be too heavy and paper mache isn't practical. It took me all my days and all the stops into the gift shops before I came across these. Regretted not getting more pairs. They were so hard to find. The metallic ones are easier to find.

I like the first mask a lot too. Was our 'baby'. Kinda feel bad that I haven't dusted it for a long time.

Do you ever wear the masks, or is it only for decoration purposes? For some reason, masks always reminds me of the movie "Eyes Wide Shut".

Oh only for decoration purposes. Yes, there's this shop that makes the masks and costumes for that show. We went and see, and found nothing fancy plus the stuff there are really expensive!

They are beautiful! I almost got one at Cir... (opps... I better not continue) but they are expensive. I saw one that looks abit like the first mask and that cost $139! Ahh... I want to go Venice now.

Yah, they're not cheap. At least the ones that are made of paper mache and are the sizes of the human face.

I showed Nancy too, and she loves them.. she really loves your main mask very much! now she wants to go back to Venice again. hehe
